Is that a jukebox in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?

I think my mp3 player is responsible for me keeping my sanity at work.

Without my tunes, I think I would go nuts at the office. People here are constantly moving, constantly talking, and constantly annoying. I find that I can effectively drown them out by turning my headphones up and ignoring them. If I allowed myself to listen to all of the half-wit conversations that people here engage in, I think I would turn out to be just as nutty as the rest of the people I work with.

Don't get me wrong, people here are nice. It's just that they all talk about nonsense all day. Smalltalk is not my forte. If you want to talk about something meaningful, by all means, let's talk. But if you want to make idle chit-chat, please take it elsewhere. I don't want to be asked about my "Monday", the weather, or any of the other trivial office conversations that are parodied on Office Space. I could swear I work for Initech sometimes.

Luckily, I've got thousands of songs on my mp3 player that keep me mellow and allow me to concentrate on my work (or posting here) without distractions. 20GB holds a lot of music. It's a virtual jukebox that travels with me wherever I go. If you don't have one, I'd highly recommend the Creative brand over any iPod. The battery life is far superior to Apple's and the file exchanges are much easier and more standardized than Apple's iTunes crap.

Thank you Creative Labs, for assisting me in my attempt to be anti-social at work.

"looks like someone has a case of the Mondays" maybe you should take some time off and beat the shit outta something office related such as an annoying co-worker or maybe your bosses new Benz. Or you could take a vacation! Sandy beaches, hot ladies, BEER, GOOD TUNES maybe something on a steel drum! I'm sure you could load up the MP3 with something to drowned out the annoying waves and relaxation..HAHAHAH! Seriously, without tunes I would have lost it long ago. The next time I have to listen to someone misquote some randon news story without thinking it through I will freak on them! Great rant. You should still take a vacation!

A vacation sounds great! Sandy beaches sounds a lot better than cold, that's for damn sure.

Don't worry, Mackenzie...I don't work at the Post Office or anything.

I bet prisoners these days have better computers than you and I. I wouldn't be surprised if they blogged from inside. They do everything else in there. Cable tv, workouts, basketball, 3 meals a day, free laundry service, vocational training, crafts, good drugs, you name it. What a terrible punishment they have. :(
